Since the dawn of web period, organizations have been looking forward for a web redesign cycle. At some point of work they think that there is a need of web redesign in order to improve their revenue and sales rate.
There are laundry changes of steps to be followed if you consider a web redesign. Clients will not approach a website which doesn’t have professional appearance, and also which is not a user friendly site. Even though we have a complete plan of web redesign flowchart, we may fail to have a look of technical requirements to be seen for a proper redesign.
A site migration should be accompanied with these technicalities:-

1.Gathering data and baseline

Failure to plan proper solutions may end up with huge loss. So its always better to have a properly gathered data and a base line. Many sites have a great start which will be very interesting and user friendly but doesn’t have a complete picture of sales driving and and how they are performing.
Gathering the data includes:
a.       Setting the goals
b.      Organic Search Call Tracking
c.       Acknowledgements from completed clients
d.      Resource downloads
e.      product trail download
Sometimes depending on the customers by seeing the old website may force the organizations to have a migration on to website.  So its better to have a mind that traffic doesn’t mean customers. Sometimes the customers will drop after the redesign.

2.       Have complete picture of data to be migrated

While redesigning a website, many pages will be added, eliminated throughout the site. If a website is redesigned without consulting the analytics there is a great chance to lose the existing customers and new ones.  To be successful in data migration there are a few factors for the search engine optimization.

a.       Links to page.

Links to page is the most important factor for SEO to decide whether a data is to migrated or not. It can be divided in to two types, quantity of links and quality of links. If quantity of links is less to the particular page, it can be deleted. But if the quality of the same link is from a social site say, a newspaper or a journal it can be migrated. So we can say the quality of link matters than the quantity of links.

b.      Traffic and conversions

This is the factor which can be slightly deviated. If we consider a page for the decision making, just have a look on the people visited the same and the quantity of links. Even though quantity of links is less than the traffic, the page will be considered for migration based on the traffic.
c.       Create a flowchart of factors which are migrated to the new site as well as the keywords of those pages are designed to target in organic search. This helps to have a complete picture of what is to be migrated and what not.

3.       Developing a good page of content

Now we have pages to be migrated to the new one.  Its time to add little technical factors to the pages for a good development and always keep in mind that a satisfied search engine will satisfy the user.

a.       Responsive Design

Designing of contents that is highly responsive has always a high rate of satisfying the customers.  A design that is mobile friendly will have more traffic than others. This is because nowadays the traffic mostly comes from the mobile search and if a page is not mobile friendly there is a chance of losing the customer.

b.      Speed of site

Speed of the site always matters if we a looking for good traffic of customers. A speedy and responsive site has a successful rate while compared to slow site with very good content in it. Run a test before your redesign with a tool such as GTmetrix to understand what’s currently hindering site speed and ensure those issues are addressed during migration.

c.       Contents of page

Always try to have a well structured ,unique content, with no same contents on different pages. A very long and very short content will not attract users. The content that is written should not be copied from others, which is a very serious issue named as plagiarism.

d.      Keywords

Keywords should be included in the title tags. Use a SERP simulator to test the appearance of title tags and Meta descriptions before implementing to the page.

e.      Impressing the customers.

Whatever the contents in the particular page, always go for the phrase that “First impression is the best impression”. All these factors are done for impressing the customers.  So use relevant colors for the site that is helpful and filled with information that impress the customers.

Even though these factors are used for implementing the new design its always better to have a recheck with the old website and the one which is ready to launch. Ultimately, the aim is not traffic, but customers. In a nut shell a well redesigned site will have beautifully designed, good link equity, correctly migrated site that will help to have high revenue through sales.
